  • Location: University of Portland - 5000 N. Willamette Boulevard, Portland, OR 97203 Note: online applications accepted only.
  • Schedule: Part-time, Friday - Sunday, hours may vary. More details upon interview.

  • Pay Range: $19.00 to $22.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Summary: Prepares food according to federal, state, and corporate standards, ensuring quality service at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Prepares high-quality food items per standardized recipes to meet production and service schedules.
  2. Serves meals or prepares for delivery, ensuring correct portioning, temperature, and presentation. Tastes all prepared food.
  3. Uses established ticket collection procedures; responsible for records during service.
  4. Maintains cleanliness of the kitchen after preparation and service, following safe food-handling procedures.
  5. Stores or discards excess food properly; keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and organized.
  6. Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed.
  7. Assists in production planning, record keeping, and reporting.
  8. Assists in ordering and receiving food and supplies.
  9. Reports maintenance issues or accidents immediately.
  10. Attends safety and in-service meetings.
  11. Maintains good relationships with coworkers, customers, and management.
  12. Performs job safely, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  13. Performs other duties as assigned.
  14. Ensures proper presentation, portion control, and food temperatures following HACCP standards.
  15. Commits to personal and team safety, abiding by all policies and procedures, including the use of protective gloves, oven mitts, slip-resistant shoes, and proper lifting techniques.
