Job summary

Trinity Services Group is hiring a Kitchen Cook for an on-site position inside a jail/correctional facility. The role is part-time (15–20 hours weekly) with weekend/holiday availability required, and shifts from 10am to 6pm.

Earn $17.50 per hour and access benefits, with DailyPay and a $250 Rookie’s Fast Track bonus on completion within 60 days. As part of the team, you’ll prepare hot and cold items, follow recipes and safety guidelines, and collaborate with the Food Service Director to deliver

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of relevant cooking experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Experience in cafeteria or large-volume food service environment.
• Familiarity with safety procedures in food service.

Responsibilities

• Refer to Daily Prep List at shift start and complete opening/closing checklists.
• Set up workstation with ingredients and cooking equipment.
• Operate equipment including ovens, stoves, slicers and mixers.
• Handle, store, label, and rotate all products per state laws.
• Physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking and standing for long periods.
• Stand for extended periods and work as part of a team.
• Other duties as needed by the department.

About This Position

The Cook prepares a variety of food items following assigned work instructions, menus and guidelines while following food safety and food handling procedures. The Cook also shows experience preparing hot and cold food items and all standardized knife cuts. You will exercise problem-solving skills to resolve issues that potentially arise. You will follow recipes, while managing their assigned station with team members to produce dishes promptly.

You will report to a Food Service Director. This position is located onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility.

Essential Functions/Main Responsibilities

• Must be comfortable using and operating a variety of equipment including ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers.
• Handle, stores, labels, and rotates all products following applicable state laws.
• You will have physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.
• Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.

What You'll Need

• We require a high school diploma or GED, and that you are at least 18 years of age.
• At least one (1) year of relevant cooking experience required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Prior experience cooking or kitchen experience in a cafeteria or large volume production facility.
• Experience with safety procedures as typical in a cafeteria or food service environment.
