Park Place of St. John, an Assisted Living/Small House and Independent Living Community located in St. John, IN, is seeking a Cook for Part-Time. The work schedule is (3-4) days per week with the possibility of working every other weekend; shifts include 5:00AM-1:00PM, 9:30AM-6:00PM, and 11:00AM-7:00PM. Pay is based on relevant experience from your resume. Park Place of St. John is a member of the Providence Life Services family, committed to enhancing the lives of those we serve.

Schedule and Hours: (3-4) days per week with potential weekend work; shifts include 5:00AM-1:00PM, 9:30AM-6:00PM, and 11:00AM-7:00PM.

Job Description:

The purpose of your role as a Cook is to prepare food in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, following our established policies and procedures, and as directed by the Administrator and/or Dietary Director, to ensure quality food service at all times.

  • Review menus prior to food preparation; ensure menus are maintained and filed according to policies and procedures.
  • Follow all dietary procedures as per established policies.
  • Assist in standardizing work methods.
  • Prepare meals that are palatable and visually appealing.
  • Serve meals following portion control procedures.

Requirements:

  • At least 1-2 years of professional Cook/Chef experience.
  • Previous Cook experience in a healthcare environment is preferred but not required.
  • Must pass a physical, drug screen, 50-pound lift test, criminal background check (fingerprinting), and reference check.
