Job summary

Hebrew SeniorLife in Canton, MA is seeking a Cook or Cook's Helper to work across all kitchens, preparing menu items in accordance with recipes, portions, and dietary guidelines while upholding sanitation standards.

You will join a culinary team, attend daily production meetings, and assist with in-service trainings to stay current. Minimum one year of experience in an upscale hotel or restaurant is required; CORI background check and TB test must be passable.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year experience as a Cook or Cook's Helper in an upscale hotel or restaurant.
  • Ability to pass CORI background check and TB test.
  • Ability to follow verbal or written instructions.
  • Follow policies for uniform and personal hygiene.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare menu items as assigned by the Chef.
  • Maintain sanitation and housekeeping to high standards.
  • Use standardized recipes and proper cooking methods; ensure cold foods cold and hot foods hot.
  • Attend daily production meetings and in-service trainings with the team.
  • Work as a member of the culinary team across shifts.

Job Description:Position Summary:To work flexibly throughout all kitchens and to prepare proper amounts of menu items in accordance with dietary spread sheets, production sheets, standardized recipes, preparation methods, portion control, time schedules, and sanitary standards as well as serving procedures. Takes ownership of Resident satisfaction for meals.
