Location: University of Central Oklahoma

We are hiring immediately for on-call COOK positions at the University of Central Oklahoma, located at 50 North University Drive, Edmond, OK 73034. Online applications are accepted only.

Schedule: On-call; Monday through Friday, including weekends. Hours may vary. More details will be provided during the interview.

Requirements: Prior culinary experience is required. Willing to train!

Pay Rate: $10.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Prepares food according to federal, state, and corporate standards, guidelines, and regulations, ensuring quality food service at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Prepare high-quality food items according to standardized recipes to meet production and service schedules.
  2. Serve meals or prepare for delivery, ensuring correct portioning, temperature, attractiveness, and taste. Taste all prepared food items.
  3. Use established ticket collection procedures during service and maintain records from the area worked.
  4. Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen after preparation and service, following safe food-handling procedures.
  5. Store or discard excess food properly, keep refrigerators and storerooms clean and organized.
  6. Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed.
  7. Assist in production planning, record keeping, and reporting as needed.
  8. Assist in ordering and receiving food and supplies.
  9. Report maintenance issues, faulty equipment, or accidents immediately to the supervisor.
  10. Attend in-service and safety meetings.
  11. Maintain good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers.
  12. Perform job safely, maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.
  14. Ensure proper presentation, portion control, and maintenance of serving temperatures following HACCP standards.
  15. Commit to personal and team safety.
  16. Follow all company policies, including safe handling of knives and hot equipment, proper footwear, and lifting techniques.
