Position Summary:

The Cook is responsible for the preparation and serving of meals for residents, cooking a variety of foods that ensure the highest quality and resident satisfaction, maintaining cleanliness of the food services area, and supervising the kitchen staff in the absence of the Director of Culinary Experience.

The starting salary for this position ranges from $20.00 to $24.98/hour. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations, may influence the offered pay.

Qualifications

• Education: High school graduate or GED.
• Training and Experience: Must have one to two years recent experience as a cook. Serve Safe Certification.

Job Knowledge

• Knowledge of safe food handling and preparation.
• Knowledge of practices to avoid waste and misuse.
• Ability to present foods attractively and test quality by taste and smell.
• Broad knowledge of breakfast, lunch, and dinner entrée preparation, including scratch soups, sauces/gravies, starches, and vegetables.

The final candidate must successfully pass Eskaton's post-offer, pre-employment testing, which includes a criminal background check, drug test, TB screen test, and health screen.
