Job summary

Cassia is seeking a Cook for Apple Valley Health Care Center and Apple Valley Villa to support two Cassia communities. The role offers on-call hours, with a wage range of $20–$22 per hour depending on experience.

You will join a caring culinary team serving residents with nutritious meals and great service. Responsibilities include following recipes, maintaining safety standards, and coordinating with the team to ensure quality meals and timely service.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of commercial cooking/food preparation experience.
• Selected candidates are required to pass background checks.
• Must be able to read and follow recipes.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Ability to stand for length of shift.
• Prior dining/serving experience a plus.
• Baking experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional service to residents by providing fast, friendly and excellent customer service to all guests.
• Prepare and cook all meals to ensure adherence to recipes and quality standards.
• Observe and report on low stock or high-demand choices.
• Observe and report on resident change of condition or changes in ability.
• Participate in meetings and required training to maintain regulatory standards of food service at the community.
• Inspect kitchen for conformance to government and company safety and sanitation requirements.
• Perform additional tasks as needed.

Apple Valley Health Care Center and Apple Valley Villa, 2 Cassia communities, is hiring a Cook to join the culinary team! In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to prepare meals that bring comfort and nourishment to our residents.
