3 days - Wednesday to Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM (21 hours)
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The cook is responsible for meal preparation according to pre-established menus and for cleanup.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow previously developed menus to prepare meals.
- Maintain kitchen and dining areas in a clean and orderly state.
- Responsible for ordering from the food bank.
- Responsible for shopping.
- Complete necessary paperwork.
- Schedule and assigned duties are subject to change based on the needs of the program and the clients we serve.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Must have knowledge of large quantity cooking techniques.
- Accepted standards for safe and hygienic food preparation.
- Must be able to interact positively with clients.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Equivalent of two years full-time paid experience in a restaurant or institutional setting.
- A valid NYS driver’s license.
- Automobile in good working order.
- Must have or obtain an Accredited NYS Defensive Driving course within 15 days of hire.
- Maintain an active NYS Defensive Driving class every 3 years upon expiration.
- If driving own vehicle, maintain valid inspection and automobile insurance.
- Provide proof of insurance upon hire and upon request.
