Compensation

$1,000 Sign-On Bonus

$15-$20 Average Per Hour Annually

Summary

Perform all methods of cookery, portion control, garnishing of dishes, and follow recipes in accordance with standards set forth by Pinehurst. Follow the direction of the Resort Executive Chef, Managing Chef, and/or Sous Chefs to maintain the highest standards of food quality, taste, and production.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED, and a minimum of 1 year related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure timely production of food.
  • Prepare food to meet Pinehurst standards of quality, taste, and appearance.
  • Control proper usage and rotation of food.
  • Maintain quality and appearance of buffet and plated food.
  • Alert Chef or supervisor to any food quality issues.
  • Maintain cleanliness of walk-in coolers and food storage areas.
  • Keep workstations and equipment clean and sanitized.
  • Complete prep work timely for the next shift.
  • Perform duties as deemed necessary by the culinary management team.
  • Make sound judgments based on established principles.
  • Operate within guidelines, policies, and standards.
  • Attend departmental safety meetings regularly.
  • Assist other departments as needed.
Physical Demands

The physical demands include talking, hearing, tasting, smelling, standing, walking, handling, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, lifting up to 50 pounds, and specific vision abilities.

Work Environment
