The Salvation Army USA Southern Territory is seeking a cook for the Knoxville Area Command to plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals for large groups. You will ensure safety, cleanliness, and timely service while supervising volunteers and maintaining inventory.

Plans, prepares, cooks and serves nutritional meals and snacks in accordance with established guidelines and schedules; ensures all meals are prepared and served in a safe and presentable manner; cleans kitchen facilities, equipment, and appliances; maintains inventory of kitchen supplies and food in a neat and orderly manner; assigns, instructs and monitors work of any volunteers.
Three years’ experience cooking food for large groups with some experience coordinating the work of other kitchen staff preferred,
or
any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Safe Food Certification
Some physical requirements of the Cook position could be endurance including climbing, standing, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate cooking equipment and activities are required. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. or more.
