Job summary

Job description

The primary purpose of the Dietary Cook is to prepare food for our residents in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, with established policies and procedures, and as directed by the Director of Food Services, to ensure quality food service at all times.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Prepare meals according to planned menus.
  2. Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and visually appealing.
  3. Serve food following established portion control procedures.
  4. Prepare food for therapeutic diets as per planned menus.
  5. Follow standardized recipes and accommodate special diet orders.
  6. Prepare and serve bedtime and between-meal snacks when directed.
  7. Process diet changes and new diets from the Wellness Director.
  8. Ensure appropriate equipment and utensils accompany the resident's meal tray.
  9. Review care plans to confirm dietary information aligns with foods served.
  10. Prepare and serve substitute foods for residents refusing served foods.
  11. Prepare food in compliance with sanitary regulations and policies.

Education and Experience Requirements

  1. Valid Food Handler's Permit as required by state regulation.
  2. Current CPR certification as required by state regulation.
  3. High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
  4. At least one (1) year of dietary experience in a healthcare setting preferred.

Pay Range :
