Job description

This position is located at Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation - Food, Beverage and Entertainment in Picatinny, New Jersey.

Duties
  1. Prepares and cooks a variety of menu items.
  2. Follows recipes to prepare items such as soups, stews, casseroles, gravies, sauces, hot cereals, syrups, meatloaf, meatballs, hamburgers, and croquettes. Adjusts recipes for larger or smaller quantities.
  3. Brings prepared foods from preparation area to refrigerators or serving area. Picks up items needed for menu preparation, rotating food inventories as appropriate. Takes inventory to determine ordering requirements.
  4. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  1. Direct Deposit and Social Security Card are required.
  2. Meet qualification, eligibility, and background requirements for this position.
  3. A one-year probationary period may be required.
  4. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  5. Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2, including a Tier 1 background investigation.
  6. Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training within 30 days of employment, and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually.
  7. Must be able to lift 40 lbs unassisted and occasionally lift objects over 40 lbs with assistance or lifting devices.
  8. A physical exam is required.
  9. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 6 months of work experience directly related to the duties described, including skill in working with professional kitchen appliances and equipment.
  • Ability to communicate (verbal and written) in English.
