Description

The Heirloom Restaurant is our flagship restaurant, featuring formal dining and lakeside comfort in the dining room of the historic Athenaeum Hotel. Managed by Executive Chef Carrie Gifford, it operates during the nine-week summer season, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily. During pre-season (May) and post-season (September), it is open Thursday to Sunday for lunch and dinner.

Compensation

Starting at $16.50/hour, with opportunities to earn up to $19.00/hour based on experience and qualifications.

Work Responsibilities

  • Follow recipe cards to prepare food ensuring taste, presentation, and temperature standards.
  • Maintain food safety and a clean work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with front-of-house managers about menu items and ingredients.
  • Properly store, label, and rotate products (FIFO).
  • Be a positive team player.
  • Work full-time or part-time, with potential overtime, typically during lunch and evening shifts. Weekend work is required, and consecutive days off may not be guaranteed.
  • Inventory food station items regularly and report to the Sous Chef or senior cook.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Referral Program

Eligible employees can receive a $500 referral bonus (less taxes) if a referred candidate is hired and remains employed for at least 90 days from their start date. For seasonal positions under 6 months, the new hire must stay employed for at least 30 days until the season's end.

Schedule

Flexible seasonal schedules starting each June and ending in August, with possible pre-season and post-season opportunities. Typical shifts are eight hours, starting between 5 am and 5 pm, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Housing

Limited on-ground housing may be available or assistance provided for nearby housing. Candidates should assume no employer-provided housing unless explicitly stated.
