Job description

At Golden Corral, we know that successful people are the foundation of our family dining restaurant chain. We are currently seeking energetic, friendly individuals to join our team!

The Cook is responsible for ensuring the quality, quantity, tastiness, and freshness of all Hot Choice Buffet products. The Cook focuses on speed, cleanliness, organization, and product specifications.

Food Production:

  • Prepares Hot Choice Buffet products, including Carving and Display Cooking, according to Golden Corral recipes and procedures.
  • Grills all items to meet Golden Corral standards for quality.
  • Ensures fried products are always fresh and hot.
  • Restocks items at the Display Cooking Station if the Buffet Attendant is unavailable.
  • Assists guests with carved meat options if the Carver is unavailable.
  • Follows the buffet production system to ensure quality and shelf life compliance.

Operational Excellence:

  • Maintains correct temperatures of all products during cooking, holding, and serving.
  • Uses the Hot Choice Buffet Production Guide and Display Cooking Hot Cook Production Guide to manage inventory.
  • Performs opening and closing administrative procedures.
  • Maintains equipment according to the Equipment Maintenance manual.
  • Restocks and rotates food using the FIFO method.
  • Conducts inventory checks with the Manager at shift start and end.

Cleanliness:

  • Ensures the Hot Cook area and smallwares are clean and dishes are checked for cleanliness.
  • Follows the duty roster, maintaining standards for cleanliness, service, and quality.
  • Adheres to local health department laws.
  • Keeps the Char Grill clean and scraped for quality and sanitation.

Guest Service:

  • Ensures Hot Choice Buffet products are hot and fresh for guests.
  • Follows position responsibilities for just-in-time delivery.
  • Is friendly and courteous to guests, assisting them with products.
  • Maintains professional communication at all times.
