Responsibilities
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards.
- Maintain knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment only as intended.
- Anticipate guest needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests regardless of busyness or time of day.
- Assist with resolving guest complaints to ensure satisfaction.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.
- Strictly abide by state sanitation/health regulations and hotel requirements.
- Meet with Chef on Duty to review assignments, anticipated business levels, and other relevant information.
- Complete opening duties, including setting up workstation, inspecting tools, checking schedules, and organizing prep items.
- Continue prep work after meal periods for the next service.
- Check POS printer functionality and supply levels.
- Prepare menu items following recipes and yield guides.
- Inform service staff of 86'd items and specials during service.
- Communicate with Chef on Duty during busy periods for assistance.
- Maintain proper storage procedures and minimize waste.
- Disinfect and sanitize work areas and tools.
- Transport and assist with clean-up activities, including breakdown of workstation and storage organization.
- Perform closing duties, including returning items to storage, cleaning, and organizing.
- Restock depleted items and review work status with Head Cook before leaving.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with inventories and banquet plating as scheduled.
- Follow maintenance and cleaning schedules.
- Perform duties in other kitchen areas as assigned.
- Attend meetings and participate in ongoing training.
- Uphold the company’s image and vision, utilize resources effectively, and contribute to future projects.
- Provide an exceptional guest experience.
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in a high-level banquet or restaurant kitchen.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Preferred prior hospitality experience.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physical tasks in a fast-paced environment.
