The Role: Cook - Line Best Odds
Responsibilities
- Prepares all food items properly according to orders and plating instructions, avoiding waste.
- Portions and prepares salads, appetizers, soups, desserts, and deli items following standard recipes. Performs basic prep cooking such as baking, frying, sautéing, and steaming. Capable of broiling, roasting, and making sauces, marinades, and dressings.
- Follows procedures for cooking, maintaining cleanliness and organization of equipment and area.
- Ensures food stock levels are maintained.
- Uses a calibrated thermometer to check food temperatures for safety.
- Uses protective gloves during food preparation.
- Follows supervisor’s instructions and handles pressure during peak hours.
- Provides excellent customer service and works safely following safety regulations.
- Communicates effectively with team members, supervisors, and guests.
- Adheres to company policies, procedures, and recycling standards.
- Minimizes costs by efficient use of materials and resources.
- Maintains cleanliness during service, sanitizes work surfaces, and monitors food temperature zones.
- Checks food stock levels, focuses on presentation and consistency, and multitasks effectively.
- Maintains customer focus, reports machinery issues, and creates a sense of urgency.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- Good communication skills.
- Availability to work weekends, holidays, and nights.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
