Description

We have positions for part-time, full-time, seasonal, and year-round roles, and we offer insurance. We operate two outlets: Lake Burton Grill, featuring classic American fare and an extensive wine list, and Bowline Takeaway and Bar, offering grab-and-go options like Shrimp by the half pound, Fish Tacos, Burgers, and Signature Cocktails. We are open 7 days a week during the season for lunch and dinner.

Position Summary: A Line Cook prepares hot and cold meals according to recipes and menus, monitors portions, manages inventories, and maintains a sanitary kitchen.

Reports to: Kitchen Manager

Job Tasks
  • Ensure all kitchen surfaces are safe and sanitary
  • Prepare food as directed
  • Season and cook food per recipes
  • Ensure proper presentation and quality of dishes
  • Manage food inventory, storage, dating, and rotation
  • Organize kitchen storage and equipment
  • Collaborate with supervisory staff on prep planning, considering costs and special events
Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Communication: Clearly communicate professionally with guests, vendors, coworkers, and management. Use thoughtful language and understand nonverbal cues. Follow instructions and communicate when more guidance is needed.

Interpersonal Relationships: Adapt to various personalities without losing focus. Maintain a positive team environment.
