Job summary

San Diego Zoo Safari Park is seeking an experienced Cook to support our food service operations. You will prepare and cook a variety of menu items, serve orders, and ensure accurate plating and presentation in a fast-paced environment.

This role may involve supervising kitchen staff and performing cashier duties as needed, with a focus on sanitation, safety, and consistent quality across shifts at the Escondido location.

Qualifications

• Culinary school and/or experience in a full-service restaurant.
• Techniques, knowledge of equipment, basic food handling, preparation and cooking.
• Ability to supervise kitchen helpers and follow recipes precisely.

Responsibilities

• Serves orders for food and beverages in a timely manner.
• Prepares and cooks menu items and other dishes according to standards.
• Follows food orders and portioning guidelines.
• Portions, arranges, and garnishes food for presentation.
• May supervise other food service staff and assist with cashier duties.
