Job summary

Modern Market Eatery in Colorado Springs is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our Back of House team. We prepare from scratch and value healthy living, guest focus, and teamwork in a fast-paced kitchen.

You will lead prep, execute recipes with precision, maintain safety and quality standards, and support a collaborative culinary team focused on great guest experiences. We offer living wages, employee meals, and a solid benefits package for full-time team members.

Qualifications

• Candidates should be friendly, enthusiastic and guest-focused.
• Willingness to learn and work well in a team is essential.
• Restaurant experience is welcomed but not required.

Responsibilities

• Conceive and update menus several times a year that embody our brand and showcase seasonal ingredients.
• Lead and manage back-of-house staff, including prep cooks and dishwashers.
• Execute recipes with precision and consistency.
• Continuously expand culinary knowledge of techniques and best practices.
• Perform quality checks to ensure all food meets culinary and safety standards.
• Comply with restaurant standards for safety, hygiene, and quality.
• Manage trash, cardboard, and recyclable materials.
• Handle kitchen equipment and clean spills promptly throughout the shift.

Back of House / Culinary Team

Our Culinary Rockstars work to prepare the best food according to our high standards. They chop, prep, sauté, grill, bake and use their culinary skills to make our healthy, mouthwatering food.

Key Responsibilities Include (not Limited To)

• Conceive and update menus several times a year that embody our brand and showcase seasonal ingredients, featuring a diverse range of chief bowls, Homestyle’s plates, salads.
• Lead and manage back-of-house staff, including prep cooks, and dishwashers. Provide guidance, training, and support to foster a positive and productive work environment.
• Execute recipes with precision and consistency
• Continuously expand culinary knowledge of techniques and best practices.
• Perform quality checks to ensure all food meets culinary and safety standards mastery of ingredients, measurements, and preparation techniques
• Comply with restaurant standards for safety, hygiene, and quality
• Manage trash, cardboard, and recyclable materials
• Handle kitchen equipment and clean spills promptly throughout the shift
