Job summary

Kohler Co. is seeking a Cook IV, Banquets for an onsite role in Kohler, WI. You will lead line cooks, train teams, and ensure meals meet Kohler hospitality standards in a high-volume environment.

The role emphasizes coaching, menu development participation, and maintaining safety and sanitation while supporting culinary excellence during service slots from early morning to late evening.

Qualifications

  • At least three years of culinary experience to work all stations in a kitchen.
  • Basic knowledge of sauces, soups, stocks.
  • Basic pastry skills and/or knowledge.
  • Experience with high-volume or fine dining cuisine preferred.
  • Serve Safe certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare all foods necessary for service to demonstrated culinary standards.
  • Produce quantities according to forecast and par levels.
  • Maintain composure and focus in high-stress peak times in business.
  • Basic protein fabrication — beef, chicken, pork, and fish.
  • Participate in menu tastings or R&D execution.
  • Provide coaching in real time during service periods.

Cook IV, Banquets

Work Mode: Onsite

Location: Onsite– Kohler, WI

Opportunity

Responsible for preparing all food products that represent the standards for Kohler hospitality with quality, consistency, and surroundings in mind. Cook IV’s have a leadership mindset with positive enthusiasm to assist in training all levels of cooks. Experienced Cooks in this role participate in delegated projects or tasks by Chefs. In this role Cook IV’s assist Chefs to enforce our “on brand and on stage” culture mindset for driving an enjoyable be also highly accountable team with leading by example. During the absence of Chefs, expo responsibilities may be required as well as leading pre-shift line up checks and readiness.

Specific Responsibilities
Production
  • Prepare all foods necessary for service to thedemonstrated culinary standards.
  • Produce all quantities according to forecast and parlevels.
  • Maintaincomposureandfocusinoccasional high stresspeaktimes in business.
  • Basic protein fabrication – beef,chicken,pork,and fish.
  • Potentialtoparticipateincreationofmenu specials or seasonalrecipes.
  • Participates in menu tastings or R&D execution.
  • Provides coaching in real time during service periods.
Ordering and Inventory Control
  • Order according to established pars, where needed.
  • Fill out proper prep lists daily to keep effective communication channels.
  • Rotate all food stocks (i.e.,first in, first out).
  • Efficient ordering checklist and prep list creation, ensuring all staff have proper lists filled out correctlyandoccasionallyassistwith monthly inventory as needed.
Sanitation
  • Ensure that food prepared does not fall into the temperature danger zone and take immediate action if jeopardized.
  • Adhere to Company grooming policies, breakpolicies,and eating policies.
  • Practice safe food handling techniques always and in all venues.
Safety
  • Maintain the knife safety standards outlined from knife safety training document.
  • Utilize the safety stations and be aware of any current or potential hazards.
  • Working knowledge of all equipment within your job duties. Know how to assemble, disassemble, and clean all equipment.
  • Knowledge of approved chemicals used proper storage and usage.
Luxury Standards
  • Clean coat, apron, hat, proper pants, non-slip shoes.
  • A service culture mindset and team player mentality.

This is a full-time position working weekends and weekdays. Hours vary between 5:00 am - 11:00 pm.

Skills/Requirements
  • At leastthreeyearsof culinaryexperienceto have the ability toworkallnecessarystations in a kitchen.
  • Basic knowledge of sauce/soup/stocks.
  • Basic pastry skills and/or knowledge.
  • Experience with a variety of cuisine types and/orexperience in high volumeor fine dining cuisine preferred.
  • Understandingofdietary needs as it pertains toproper safe food handling.
  • Able to follow written and verbal instruction efficientlywith supervision.
  • Preferred, but notrequired-Have a highschool diploma and or a reading,speaking,and written fluency inEnglish.
  • Ability tobe guest facing as applicable,potentiallyparticipatingin resort events asappropriate.
  • Serve Safe certification orability to obtain onewithin90 days.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

The hourly range for this position is $24.75 - $37.15. The specific hourly rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including candidate's education and work location.
