Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. Attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
All employees must fully comply with Westin/Sheraton Carlsbad Resort & Spa rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the hotel’s facilities. Violations may result in disciplinary action, up to termination.
Perform additional tasks as determined by the manager, including consulting with supervisors, participating in planning, and supporting ongoing hotel programs.
Tasks are performed indoors with temperature control, but may involve working in extreme temperatures. Must be able to handle equipment and perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, working in high-stress environments, and operating machinery.
High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 6 months of cook or prep cook experience in a full-service restaurant. Culinary certification preferred.
Must have a valid Food Handler’s Card and be able to obtain any required licenses or permits.
Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance according to company standards.
Consistent attendance is essential; irregular attendance may lead to disciplinary action or termination. All employees must comply with company rules and regulations.
