Job summary

Boyd Gaming Corporation is seeking a prep cook for its Las Vegas operations. Responsibilities include preparing soups, sauces, vegetables, roast meats, and cook-to-order items according to recipes and specifications.

Ideal candidates will have at least 1 year of prep cook experience, knowledge of various cooking styles, and the ability to stand for long shifts, lift up to 75 pounds, and follow safety and sanitation procedures.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of one (1) year of experience as a prep cook.
• Working knowledge of various cooking styles, techniques and recipes in the outlet.
• Able to stand/walk for a full shift and lift up to 75 pounds.
• Must obtain/maintain required licenses/certifications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare soups, sauces, vegetables, roast meats, and cook-to-order items per specifications and recipes.
• Inspect equipment, spices, and food products to ensure quality standards.
• Monitor inventory levels and order stock to maintain pars.
• Ensure proper product rotation, storage, and quantity controls.
• Apply safety and sanitation procedures consistently.
• Maintain cleanliness of work station and storage areas at all times.
• Supervise kitchen staff performance as needed.

• Consistently apply established safety and sanitation procedures.

• Must have a working knowledge and experience in most cooking styles, techniques, and recipes in assigned food outlet.
• Must be able to stand and/or walk for duration of shift.
• Must be able to lift, carry and maneuver up to 75 pounds.
• Other physical requirements of the position include but are not necessarily limited to reaching, grasping, bending, kneeling, and twisting at the waist.
• Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary licenses and/or certifications.
