Posting Description

We are seeking a full-time Cook to work in our Lowell General - Saints Campus Kitchen!

Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, grill, broil, and present a variety of hot and cold food items for various meal periods, including Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Special/Catered Events. This includes all areas of food production—Patient, Retail, and Catering. The general responsibilities include those listed below, but the Hospital/Department may identify other responsibilities as needed.

Hours: Per Diem

1st and 2nd shifts - varied hours

Availability required between 5:30 am - 8:30 pm

Every other weekend and holiday shifts required

Location: Saints Campus Kitchen

Job Duties:
  1. Read food orders or receive verbal instructions and prepare and cook food accordingly.
  2. Provide the highest quality of service to customers at all times.
  3. Follow recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving various food items.
  4. Operate kitchen equipment to measure, mix, wash, peel, cut, and shred ingredients, and trim and cut meat, poultry, or fish.
  5. Estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to plan and requisition supplies.
  6. Clean and sanitize work stations and equipment following hospital and departmental policies.
  7. Prepare meals for customers with special dietary needs.
  8. Produce batch goods using basic cooking techniques for café service.
  9. Work flexible hours as needed.
  10. Stand for long periods (up to 8 hours) and lift up to 35 pounds regularly, 40 pounds occasionally.
  11. Adapt to departmental needs on short notice.
Requirements:
  • Two (2) years of related experience in a food service environment or restaurant.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in culinary arts, cooking, or a related field.
  • Three (3) years of experience as a cook in food services or restaurant.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • ServSafe certification.
