Job summary

OKANA Resort & Indoor Water Park, part of Pyramid Global Hospitality, is seeking a Cook to prepare and cook dishes in a fast-paced hotel kitchen. You will work across restaurants, outlets, and banquets, following menus and standards to deliver high-quality meals.

Ideal candidates have 2 years in hotel or full-service restaurant cooking, strong reading ability for menus, and a commitment to sanitation. This is a full-time, on-site role with growth opportunities and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; culinary technical courses preferred.
• 2 years of cooking experience in hotels or full-service restaurants.
• Conversational English sufficient to read menus and recipe cards.

Responsibilities

Role: The Cook

The Cook will prepare and cook food according to standards set forth by OKANA Resort. Responsibilities include working in assigned areas (restaurants, outlets, and banquets), producing appealing and tasteful dishes, operating kitchen equipment (grills, ovens, fryers), and maintaining sanitation in all work areas. Cooks report any inoperable equipment to the Kitchen Engineer.

What you will be doing

• Maintain work areas clean and organized.
• Monitor presentation and portioning of food according to standards.
• Monitor the quality and consistency of all food served from lines.
• Report all unsafe conditions immediately.
• Set up, restock, maintain and clean food preparation areas.
• Demonstrate knowledge of sanitation and sanitary food handling.
• Ensure the special of the day is completed in a timely fashion.
• Prepare food in accordance with working menus, recipe cards, and photos.
• Attend mandatory meetings and perform other duties as assigned, including cross‑training.

Compensation

Compensation: $16 - $17 per hour. Actual compensation packages are based on factors including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and location.
