Job summary

University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia is seeking a Cook II for Penn Dining Services to prepare, portion, and serve meals in a safe, sanitary manner. You will follow standardized recipes and assist with daily production and inventory as part of a busy residential dining operation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred; 0–1 year experience or equivalent
• Some recent experience in food service preferred
• Ability to communicate and implement management direction
• Ability to lift 10–25 lbs
• Must be willing to work flexible hours, 7 day a week operation
• Position is for 9 months per year

Responsibilities

• Prepare, display, and serve hot and cold ingredients and food items in a safe and sanitary manner
• Serve and restock food, beverages, condiments, dishes, and other items
• Complete logs and charts, date and label foods, ingredients and leftovers
• Clean and sanitize equipment; receive soiled dishes and cookware
• Maintain clean, organized work and storage spaces
• Assist with maintenance of dining hall areas
• Follow HACCP procedures for handling, preparing, serving, and storing foods and chemicals
