Job summary

Benchmark Hospitality at Deloitte University Hotel & Conference Center in Westlake, TX is seeking a Cook II to support multiple dining outlets, including banquet and market concepts. The role emphasizes high-volume preparation, line cooking, and cross-station flexibility with emphasis on quality and food safety.

You will work in a fast-paced environment, preparing diverse cuisines, maintaining station cleanliness, and coordinating with other kitchen teams.

Qualifications

• Two years of cooking experience in a commercial kitchen required.
• Culinary school preferred.
• Basic Food Safety certification required within 30 days of starting position.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food and menu items according to standard recipes.
• Receive and store food requisitions; check quality and quantity.
• Inspect refrigeration and dry storage; ensure proper handling and rotation.
• Set up kitchen stations for service and ensure cleanliness and proper storage after shift.
• Assist in Banquets, buffet, a la carte, and social venues as needed.

This position may work in:Banquet Kitchen – High volume kitchen which serves our ballrooms, coffee break stations, and Associate Cafeteria.Market Restaurant – World fair cuisine, featuring a buffet-style market that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.Albero Restaurant – Classic Italian Cuisine, featuring family style dining for lunch & la carte dining for dinner.Ember Restaurant - Latin Steakhouse flare and flavors offering a light breakfast but featuring family style dining for lunch and a la carte dining for dinner.Status: Full TimeAvailability: 1st shiftPay Rate: $20.25 per hourLocation: Benchmark Hospitality at Deloitte University Hotel & Conference CenterESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Prepare food and menu items according to standard recipes.Receiving and put away food requisitions checking for food products quality and amount.Inspect all refrigeration and dry storage for proper handling and rotation.Ensure that the stations are set up for service but also clean and that all food items are properly covered and stored at the end of shift.Ensure that kitchen stations and functions are properly broken down and those reusable items are returned to the main kitchen and put on proper shelf.Assist in other kitchens within the hotel, as needed.
