Job summary

University of Washington's Harborview Medical Center in Seattle is seeking two Cook 2 positions to prepare accurate, high-quality meals for patients according to standardized recipes. The role requires following infection control procedures, maintaining clean stations, and coordinating tray assembly with other cooks.

You will work an evening shift, 40 hours per week (Thu–Mon) at Harborview's Food and Nutrition department, contributing to compassionate patient care and nutritious meals.

Qualifications

• Valid food handler's permit or eligible.
• One year of experience as a Food Service Worker or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepares accurate, high-quality food for patients to order following standardized recipes and procedures.
• Keeps station and cooking equipment clean following all infection control procedures.
• Begins and ends tray assembly including service ware, condiments, hot and cold items as they are finished by Line and Cold Pantry Cooks.
• Identifies product needs and requisitions items required to prepare tray assembly
• Notifies Sous Chef in advance of expected shortages
• Prepares all lunch/dinner orders accurately and efficiently follows food preparation procedures
