Hotel Paseo, Autograph Collection, part of Marcus Hotels & Resorts, seeks a Cook II to uphold quality in a boutique desert setting in Palm Desert, CA. Join a Milwaukee-based portfolio offering a refined guest experience across dining venues like Larkspur Grill and Café Paseo.

You will prepare station items, manage portions and stocks, and ensure sanitation and safety while maintaining heat and pace in a luxury environment with opportunities for full-time or part-time employment.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience required; 1-2 years in a similar position preferred.
• High school diploma preferred.
• Sufficient manual dexterity to use kitchen equipment (knives, spoons, spatulas, tongs, slicers, etc.).
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to stand for long periods in a high-noise, hot kitchen environment.
• Ability to obtain local or state licenses for sanitation or food service.
• Varied schedule including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and high-pressure periods.

Responsibilities

• Prepare station-specific food items according to recipes, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Monitor storage, portion sizes, and stocks and sauces.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization to meet Health Department regulations.
• Ensure equipment is clean, sanitized, and operational.

We are seeking a Cook II who will be responsible for the quality control of items prepared within our kitchens. Part of the Milwaukee-based Marcus Hotels & Resorts portfolio, HOTEL PASEO offers guests a distinctive desert retreat featuring 150 thoughtfully designed guest rooms and suites, many showcasing breathtaking views of the San Jacinto Mountains and palm-lined landscape. Guests can unwind by our resort-style pool and on-site spa, explore the area on complimentary bicycles, and enjoy inspired dining at Larkspur Grill, Lemon Drop Pool Bar or Café Paseo. What you will be doing:

• Prepare station-specific food items according to recipes, ensuring consistency and quality.

What we are looking for:

• Previous cooking experience required, 1-2 years in a similar position preferred, Culinary or Apprenticeship program preferred.
• High school diploma preferred.
• Sufficient manual dexterity of hand in order to use all kitchen equipment, i.e., knives, spoons, spatulas, tongs, slicers, etc.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull weights up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to stand for long periods, work in a confined space with high levels of noise and frequent interruptions, and perform duties within extreme temperature ranges.
• Ability to obtain any local, state or federal license or certification for sanitation, liquor service, or food service certification.
• Must be able to work a varied schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, holidays and the ability to work under pressure.
