Cache Creek Casino Resort in California is seeking a Cook I to join our kitchen team. You will support the Chef-on-Duty, learn to operate large volume equipment, and prepare a variety of dishes with attention to HACCP standards.

The role emphasizes teamwork, quality, and efficiency in a fast-paced environment. This position offers a $800 sign-on bonus after 90 days for external applicants, opportunities to grow, and employee dining benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in food preparation and basic knowledge of kitchen operations.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all necessary menu items, including soups and sauces, as directed by the Chef-on-Duty.
• Operate large volume cooking equipment such as grill, deep fryers, griddles, salamander, stove tops, ovens, braiser, and steamer.
• Prepare basic hot food, cold food, sandwiches, salads and dressings as needed.
• Demonstrate proficient knife skills and proper handling of meat, fish, poultry, vegetables and dairy per HACCP standards.
• Maintain clean, sanitized and organized workstations, storeroom and walk-in refrigerators.
• Assist with special events and various banquet productions as needed.
• Rotate stock using FIFO and ensure freshness to reduce waste.
• Report faulty equipment or unsafe conditions promptly.
