Job summary

Wellmore of Lexington in Lexington, SC is hiring a Cook I to prepare meals for residents and families. This is the first step in culinary arts in our senior living community.

The role emphasizes basic kitchen knowledge, adherence to food safety, and daily Mis En Place. You will work with front and back of house teams, learn opening/closing, menus, and daily prep.

This position offers a collaborative, respectful environment with opportunities to grow within the Wellmore dining program.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years’ experience in a similar position desired.
• Culinary training a plus.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English fluently.
• Ability to meet or exceed attendance and punctuality standards.
• Ability to use miscellaneous software and office equipment.
• Ability to understand and follow directions as given; work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with front and back of house teams to meet Wellmore standards for quality, presentation and portions.
• Adhere to HACCP, labeling and storage protocols for all foods and comply with food service regulations.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a culture of safety.
• Maintain documentation of temperature charts and records.
• Communicate with community departments and Home Office support to keep residents happy and engaged.
• Participate in planning and production meetings; attend in-service training.
• Other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or Director of Dining Services.
