YOUR ROLE: As a Cook, you are part of a team that prepares, seasons and cooks great tasting food with food safety in focus. You will be preparing food in a variety of forms using a unique combination of equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepares hot and cold food items per recipes and methods, ensuring quality, freshness, and safety.
  • Coordinates food orders with sous chef or supervisors and ensures food availability for the Wildcat Community.
  • Maintains cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards, including proper handwashing, glove use, and allergy procedures.
  • Prevents cross-contamination and ensures correct food storage, labeling, rotation, and temperature control per Pima County Health Codes.
  • Multitasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing needs while keeping work areas clean and organized.
  • Follows menus, prep and cleaning lists, and performs additional duties to support efficient kitchen operations.
  • Cleans and sanitizes all kitchen and front-of-house areas, including equipment, surfaces, utensils, and waste disposal.
  • Works collaboratively with staff and students, greets customers courteously, and provides feedback to supervisors.
  • Identifies and solves problems proactively to maintain smooth operations.
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of food service operations including large quantity food preparation.
  • Knowledge of job content, practices, and procedures.
  • Skills necessary to fully perform all aspects of the job.
  • Skill in operating various institutional/commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers and coworkers.
  • Ability to multi-task under stressful situations.
  • Ability to accept and integrate feedback in a professional and productive manner.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift/transport a maximum of 50lbs.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
  • Must be available to work nights, weekends and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 year of high-volume restaurant experience.
