Job Responsibilities

The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) Cook is responsible for kitchen operations including:

  • Preparation and delivery of meals
  • Menu planning
  • Inventory management and purchasing
  • Training of kitchen staff
  • Enforcing food handling and sanitation guidelines

This position has two levels, designed to provide progressively more responsible and independent work experiences. Progression depends on demonstrated ability to handle more responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Current Food Service Worker’s permit issued by the appropriate authority
Additional Qualifications for Cook II

In addition to Cook I requirements, candidates must also have:

  • Associate degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent; OR three years of experience in a commercial/institutional setting; OR completion of vocational training in food preparation
  • One year of experience in large-scale food preparation environment
  • First Aid/CPR certification within six months of hire
