Location Description
The iconic Arizona Biltmore is located in the heart of the prestigious Biltmore neighborhood in Phoenix. The resort was named the "Jewel of the Desert" since its opening on February 23, 1929. This gorgeous 39-acre property reopened in May 2021 after undergoing a $150 million restoration and has over 700 rooms, over 200,000 square feet in banquet space, and 8 food and beverage outlets (including 2 restaurants, 2 bars, 2 poolside bars, a gelato shop/cafe, and in-room dining).

Overview
Arizona Biltmore offers a diverse culinary experience with 2 full service restaurants, 2 bars, 2 pools, in-room dining, a cafe, a large banquet department, and a pastry shop all under the leadership of our fantastic Executive Chef, Andrew Newberg. With a background in Michelin-Starred restaurants and notable hotels, his passion for gastronomy drives the culture of the culinary team with an enthusiasm for innovation, commitment to quality, and dedication to sustainability and community involvement.

Duties
As a Cook I, you will be responsible for maintaining and setting up food production and quality control of all meat, fish, poultry, sauces, stocks, seasoning and all other food items prepared in the different kitchen stations. Specifically, this includes, but is not limited to, the following duties:

  • Prepare all food items according to standard recipes and/or as specified on guest check to ensure consistency of product to the guest. Visually inspect, select and use only food items ideal for cooking, in preparation of all menu items.
  • Maintain consistency and work as a team.
  • Check and control the proper storage of product, monitoring age and condition of all food items to rotate and maintain highest quality.
  • Keep all refrigeration equipment, storage and working areas clean and clutter free, complying with Health department regulations.
  • Prepare daily requisitions for supplies and food items for production.
  • Read and employ math skills to follow recipes.
  • Perform any general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned by supervisor.
  • Keep floors dry and clean to avoid slip/fall accidents.
  • Perform other duties as requested, such as moving supplies and equipment, cleaning up unexpected spills.

This is a full-time position, and you must have availability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

We Have Opportunities Available In The Following Outlets

  • Renata's Hearth
    • Shifts are between the hours of 2pm-11:30pm.
  • McArthurs
    • There are 3 different shifts between the hours of 7am-3:30pm, 2pm-11:30pm, and 9am-5:30pm.
  • Spire Bar
    • There are 2 different shifts between the hours of 10am-6:30pm and 1:30pm-10pm.

Qualifications

  • At least three (3) years of cooking experience in a professional, fast-paced kitchen.
  • Prior hotel/resort experience, preferred.
  • Upscale/luxury dining experience, preferred.
  • Prior BBQ or smoker experience is a plus (for Renata's Hearth).
  • Graduate of an Apprenticeship or accredited Culinary School, preferred.
  • Maricopa County Food Handler Card.
  • ServeSafe Food Handler Certification, preferred.
  • Ability to speak and understand English.
  • Ability to walk outside in various weather conditions such as extreme heat.
  • Driven to learn and grow skills.
  • Passionate about culinary and delivering exceptional experiences.
  • Thrives in a high-volume environment.
  • Team player.
