Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a Cook at Southern Maine Community College in Maine. The role involves preparing, portioning, cooking and presenting hot and cold items for meals and events in a fast-paced kitchen.

You will follow Sodexo standards to ensure quality, safety and exemplary service while maintaining a clean workstation. The position requires up to 2 years of related experience, a High School diploma or GED, and the ability to read recipes and follow instructions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
• 0–2 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good working knowledge of food preparation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food in accordance with current standards to ensure high-quality service.
• Follow basic recipes and product directions for soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foods.
• Estimate food requirements and check production to plan supplies and equipment.
• Significant walking or mobility is required.
• Ability to stand for extended periods during a shift.
• Able to lift up to 35 pounds regularly and occasionally 50 pounds.
• Attend shifts on time and perform other duties as needed.
