The World Equestrian Center Ocala Resort is seeking a Cook I to join our team. This senior-level role involves overseeing your station and kitchen operations, working across all kitchen stations. The ideal candidate demonstrates advanced culinary skills, teamwork, staff training abilities, and a commitment to high standards of food quality and safety.

Responsibilities
  1. Oversee the preparation and cooking of a wide variety of food items.
  2. Assist in menu development, including creating daily specials.
  3. Ensure consistent food quality, taste, and presentation.
  4. Train, mentor, and supervise Cook III and II staff and other kitchen team members.
  5. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and efficiency in the kitchen and food storage areas.
  6. Enforce all health and safety regulations and guidelines.
  7. Manage inventory and stock rotation.
  8. Collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house staff for smooth operations.
  9. Participate in kitchen cleaning and dishwashing duties as needed.
Physical Requirements
  • Lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Stand or walk continuously for 8 hours.
  • Perform reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling as needed.
  • Sit and handle objects with hands and fingers.
  • Have close vision and be able to talk and hear.
