ABOUT ENCORE BOSTON HARBOR

Encore Boston Harbor is a luxury global destination gaming resort featuring 671 hotel rooms with views of the Boston skyline and Boston Harbor, an ultra-premium spa, luxury retail, high-end dining, and state-of-the-art ballroom and meeting spaces. Job Description

The Encore Boston Harbor Cook I is responsible for preparing meals according to established recipes set by the Executive Chef, working on multiple hot and cold stations in the kitchen.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Adhere to all Encore Boston Harbor core values and property standards.
  2. Contribute to departmental performance and maintain accurate, confidential records and reports.
  3. Follow all internal policies, laws, rules, and regulations.
  4. Deliver high levels of service and guest satisfaction.
  5. Participate in communication and best practices sharing across the company.
  6. Assist in training new team members.
  7. Stay informed of departmental updates and developments.
  8. Manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.
  9. Cook high-quality food according to recipes.
  10. Manage multiple hot and cold stations.
  11. Assist with food preparation, presentation, decoration, and storage.
  12. Communicate any issues or guest feedback to supervisors.
  13. Notify the chef on duty if tasks are incomplete before shift end.
  14. Attend daily briefings and meetings.
  15. Prepare food, beverages, and materials needed for service.
  16. Clean and reset work areas.
  17. Prioritize safety and follow safety standards.
  18. Engage in ongoing education and training.
  19. Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Must be 18 years or older and obtain/maintain a Massachusetts Gaming Commission license.
  2. ServSafe or equivalent certification preferred.
  3. High school diploma or equivalent preferred; culinary education or experience preferred.
  4. Minimum of 3 years cooking experience preferred.
  5. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and attention to detail skills.
  6. Ability to read, interpret documents, and communicate effectively in English; second language a plus.
  7. Basic math skills; ability to decipher reports.
  8. Physical ability to lift at least 50 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods.
  9. Work environment includes moderate to loud noise levels; flexible scheduling required.
