Job Description

The Encore Boston Harbor Cook I is responsible for preparing meals based on recipes set by the Executive Chef, managing multiple hot and cold stations in the kitchen.

Job Responsibilities
  • Adhere to all property and department standards and core values.
  • Contribute to departmental performance, including accuracy, confidentiality, and thoroughness of policies and procedures.
  • Follow all applicable internal policies, laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Deliver high-quality service and guest satisfaction.
  • Assist in training new team members.
  • Stay informed of departmental developments.
  • Manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Cook high-quality food according to recipes.
  • Manage multiple stations efficiently.
  • Assist with food preparation, presentation, decoration, and storage.
  • Communicate any issues or guest feedback to supervisors.
  • Attend daily briefings and meetings.
  • Prepare necessary food, beverages, and materials in advance.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Prioritize safety and follow safety standards.
  • Engage in ongoing education and training.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Requirements
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Obtain and maintain a Massachusetts Gaming Commission license or registration.
  • ServSafe or equivalent certification preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; culinary education or experience is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years cooking experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail.
Skills

Ability to read, interpret documents, respond to inquiries, and communicate effectively in English; second language skills are a plus. Basic math skills are required.

Physical Demands

Must be able to stand, walk, sit, and handle objects; lift at least 50 pounds; and perform physical activities related to kitchen work.
