Job description

Job Responsibilities
  • Exceed First Class Service standards and behavior with every guest, business partner, and peers.
  • Follow recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving food items.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations, including those related to food safety.
  • Sample products, follow menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Practice excellent food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Regularly restock all kitchen supplies and food items required for service.
  • Assist with ordering and planning food supplies.
  • Report necessary equipment repairs and maintenance to management.
  • Assist with training new cooks and other restaurant staff, offering assistance as needed.
  • Monitor proper rotation and dating of prepped and food items.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment free of safety hazards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED; training from a culinary school is an asset.
  • Minimum of 1 year of closely related cooking experience; experience in high-volume or fast-casual dining restaurants preferred.
  • Ability to speak, read, and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and policy documents; able to converse comfortably with customers.
  • Food handler's card may be required according to local and/or state regulations (e.g., California).
  • Ability to work unsupervised for extended periods and demonstrate good judgment when dealing with guests.
  • Ability to work various shifts in a 7/365 team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills and effective communication abilities.
  • Self-starter capable of prioritizing and handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and unexpected situations.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and mathematics.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs, perform essential functions such as standing, bending, reaching, climbing ladders, and walking long distances.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and work in environments with varying temperatures.
