Job summary

The George Washington University Hospital, a 395-bed academic medical center in downtown Washington, DC, is seeking a hospital food service worker to support patient meals and retail dining. The role follows directions for preparing soups, meats, vegetables, and desserts, using a variety of kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and 0–2 years of related experience.

Position Summary

Follows directions for preparing, and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts and other food items for consumption in patient and retail serving areas. Prepares foods by operating a variety of kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients, wash, peel, cut, shred fruits and vegetables, and trim and cut meat, poultry or fish for culinary use. Tastes products, reads and follows production sheets, and keep records as needed
