Job summary

SodexoMagic is seeking a Cook I at the University of Illinois Chicago campus. You will work as part of a team to prepare nutritious dishes while delivering friendly customer service. The role involves varying shifts, with open availability preferred, and opportunities for part-time or full-time schedules.

You will be expected to read recipes, portion and cook items accurately, and possibly operate a grill or serve guests at times. A strong team attitude and dependable attendance are important.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of related experience is beneficial.
• Varying shifts and open availability preferred.
• Position requires teamwork and customer service focus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, portion, cook, and present hot or cold items for Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner or events.
• Read and follow recipes and directions for products.
• May operate grill station and serve customers at a la carte.
• Attend scheduled shifts on time with regularity.
• Other duties as required by the unit.

Workdays/shifts : Varying shifts, days/hours (open availability preferred). More details will be provided during the interview process.

Employment Type: Full-Time or Part-Time

Pay Range: $19.05 per hour - $19.05 per hour

What You’ll Do:

As a Cook I at SodexoMagic, you are also a team player and food waste reducer. You’ll prepare and create nutritious dishes while putting customer service at the heart of everything you do. Your passion for food and warm smile will make a positive impact and brighten the day of those you serve.

Responsibilities include:

• Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and/or cold food items for various meal periods, may include Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Special/Catered Events.

• Read and follow basic recipes and/or product directions for preparing various food items

• May prepare food and serve customers at an a la carte and/or operate a grill station

• Attends work and shows for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity

• Other duties may be assigned and can differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements.
