Job summary

Assets, Inc. is seeking enthusiastic cooks to join our team in a fast-paced environment. This is a permanent, full-time position with 30-40 hours per week and a pay rate of $22.48 per hour.

We offer employer-paid medical indemnity, dental, vision, life insurance, and short-term disability, with two positions available. Training and advancement opportunities are available in a mission-driven setting.

Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills.
  • Knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
  • Previous prep or line cook experience.
  • Ability to speak, read, and understand English to effectively communicate with customers.
  • Ability to think, react calmly, and respond to emergency situations.
  • Perform under stressful situations and respond to work problems.

  • Complete ServSafe training satisfactorily.
  • Actively participate in company meetings and trainings.
  • Maintain a proactive relationship with customers and coworkers.
  • Follow all policies set forth by Assets, Inc.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Assets, Inc. is currently Cooks to join our team!   • Regular exposure to heat/cold from the mechanical equipment.

Summary

In accordance with Assets, Inc. core values and mission, this position contributes to the success of the contract by preparing daily food items according to established regulatory policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Adheres to and demonstrates Assets, Inc. core values, mission, code of conduct, and employee expectations in the performance of all aspects of this position.
  • Adheres to and prepare products according to the Army food Management system (AFMIS) Automated Recipe System.
  • Adheres to Tasks listed in the Performance Work Statement (PWS) as directed by the Contract.
  • Cleans and maintains station while practicing safety, sanitation and organizational skills.
  • Has understanding and knowledge of how to properly use and maintain all equipment in the station.
  • Able to satisfactorily complete ServSafe training.
  • Actively participates in company meetings and trainings.
  • Maintains a proactive relationship with customers and coworkers.
  • Be familiar with and follow all policies set forth by Assets, Inc.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills. Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures. Previous prep or line cook experience.

Language Skills: Must speak and understand English. Must be able to speak, read and understand basic cooking directions. Employees will be required to effectively communicate with the customers in English. This requirement is strictly for the purpose of efficiently performing the contract tasks.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to think, react calmly, and respond to emergency situations. Must be able to perform under stressful situations and respond to work problems.
