Pay Range

This range is provided by NYS Office of Children and Family Services. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Base pay range: $22.00/hr - $22.00/hr

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Prepare and cook a variety of foods including soups, sauces, meats, fish, vegetables, baked goods, etc.
2. Supervise kitchen staff in the storage, preparation, cooking, and dispensing of food.
3. Clean and sanitize kitchen facilities, utensils, and equipment.
4. Additional duties will be discussed in detail during the interview.

Minimum Qualifications

Three years of experience in large-scale cooking, defined as preparing 300 meals daily.

Additional Information

Background Investigation Requirements include Criminal Background Checks, screening against the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment, and checks against the Staff Exclusion List for DJJOY prospective appointees. All prospective employees will be investigated accordingly, and may be required to pay associated fees.
