About Springfield City Schools

The Springfield City School District, home to The John Legend Theatre, is seeking a Cook Helper/Cashier (8) for the 2025-26 school year. We serve approximately 7,500 students in a vibrant community with state-of-the-art facilities. We value diversity and aim to promote social and emotional learning through various initiatives.

Job Duties
  • Follow directions from Head Cook
  • Prepare food following standard procedures for safety and nutrition
  • Maintain cashier operations and reporting standards
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently
  • Serve as a contact at the school for issues
  • Assist with inventory and paperwork
  • Manage food and supply storage and rotation
  • Work as cashier as needed
What We Offer

This position is part-time, working 6 hours daily, 188 days per year, Monday through Friday, from 8:00am to 2:00pm or as assigned. Starting pay is $18.18/hr, with a $1,500 bonus in November. The role begins in August for the 25/26 school year. All employees receive professional development opportunities.
