  • Have experience in a volume production kitchen environment (preferred)
  • Be flexible in your work schedule and be willing to attend/participate in professional development sessions
  • Be willing to serve on teams
  • Have the ability to relate to students with diverse backgrounds
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm in your role
  • Take direction from the Head Cook in the assigned kitchen
  • Prepare food for the school utilizing standard operating procedures that have been developed by the Food and Nutrition Department to safely and nutritiously feed the students and staff of the Springfield City School District
  • Adhere to the cashier standards of operations, reporting and maintenance
  • Follow the systems that are utilized to maintain compliance with all regulatory agency requirements
  • Operate all equipment according to the standard operating procedure for safety and efficiency
  • Serve as a contact at the assigned school for issues that may arise. Report all issues to the Head Cook within a timely manner.
  • Help prepare a monthly inventory when needed, under the supervision of the Head Cook
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly paperwork as required
  • Help to ensure the safe and accurate receiving, storage, rotation, and disposition of all food and supplies
  • Work as a cashier on a regular basis, or when needed

What We Offer:
As a contracted employee, this position works 6 hours per day, 188 days per contracted year.
Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 1:00 pm or as assigned

Starting salary is $18.18 per hour
