The Springfield City School District, home to The John Legend Theatre, is seeking a Cook Helper/Cashier for Hayward Middle School for the 2025-26 school year. We serve approximately 7,500 students in a diverse community. Job Duties
  • Assist the Head Cook in food preparation following safety and nutritional standards
  • Follow cashier operation procedures
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • Serve as a contact for issues at the school and report to the Head Cook
  • Assist in inventory management
  • Complete required paperwork
  • Ensure proper handling of food and supplies
  • Work as a cashier when needed
Work Schedule & Compensation

This position is part-time, working 3 hours daily, Monday through Friday, from 10:30am to 1:30pm, for the 2025-26 school year. Starting pay is $18.18 per hour, with a $1,500 bonus in November. Employees receive professional development opportunities.
