The Springfield City School District, home to The John Legend Theatre, is seeking a Cook Helper/Cashier for Hayward Middle School for the 2025-26 school year. We serve approximately 7,500 students in a diverse community. Job Duties

Assist the Head Cook in food preparation following safety and nutritional standards
Follow cashier operation procedures
Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
Serve as a contact for issues at the school and report to the Head Cook
Assist in inventory management
Complete required paperwork
Ensure proper handling of food and supplies
Work as a cashier when needed

Work Schedule & Compensation

This position is part-time, working 3 hours daily, Monday through Friday, from 10:30am to 1:30pm, for the 2025-26 school year. Starting pay is $18.18 per hour, with a $1,500 bonus in November. Employees receive professional development opportunities.
