Job Responsibilities
- Prepare, sauté, broil, fry, bake, and grill food items according to kitchen needs.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as grill, fryer, broiler, oven, and French top.
- Perform preliminary preparation work efficiently.
- Ensure ingredient supply levels are accurate.
- Move items from shelves to carts and restock stations as needed.
- Maintain the required food items at assigned stations across the property.
- Keep work areas sanitary and organized.
- Follow safety and health codes and regulations consistently.
- Keep all assigned areas clean and free of debris.
- Care for, store, use, and clean all tools and equipment properly.
- Handle perishables correctly, maintaining quality, security, and integrity.
- Prepare food according to standard recipes and specifications, responding positively to training.
- Communicate effectively with team members, including service and maintenance staff.
- Assist with other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma required; culinary degree preferred.
- Experience in the hospitality industry preferred.
Qualifications
- Demonstrate high integrity and uphold industry standards.
- Obtain a Virginia Lottery Non-Gaming License.
- Know proper cooking, holding temperatures, and sanitation practices.
- Operate kitchen equipment including breakdown, setup, and sanitation.
- Work flexible hours, including nights, holidays, and weekends.
Physical, Mental, and Environmental Demands
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Stand 30%, walk 70% of the time.
- Frequently bend, push, twist, kneel, climb, and reach overhead.
- Respond to touch, speech, smell, auditory, and visual cues.
- Work in an area with secondary smoke.
- Use kitchen utensils requiring coordination and dexterity.
- Tolerate cleaning and sanitizing chemicals.
- Work in a fast-paced environment with constant customer contact.
