Job Description

The Cook prepares food for retail, room service, and catering. This position is Centra's front line culinary production staff. The Cook follows outlined procedures in producing hot and/or cold food items. Responsibilities include serving room service customers, preparing food in cafes and catering, and completing all cold prep tasks.

Responsibilities
  1. Communicate directly with Nutrition Services management team on all issues that may arise during the day.
  2. Cook food items according to menus, printed tickets, production sheets, par levels/tally sheets.
  3. Assemble trays for the room service program.
  4. Take customer orders in retail areas and prepare according to menu and recipe guidelines.
  5. Complete taste panels each meal.
  6. Record all temperatures on HACCP logs.
  7. Ensure all equipment is used properly, cleaned, and inspected; report any operational issues to management.
  8. Complete all prep tasks during the designated shift, ensuring everything is labeled and dated.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned or requested; job specifications can be modified or updated at any time.
