This job contributes to Smashburger and Harrah's Southern California Resort success by providing fast, friendly, and exceptional Family-Style Service to all guests with quality food, products, and maintaining a clean, comfortable, and safe store environment. Our team members are required to have basic knowledge about health and learn about all fresh products to effectively educate our guests. The team member is responsible for modeling and acting in accordance with Smashburger Guiding Principles and with Harrah's Southern California Resort's Mission, Values, and Vision.

Our ideal candidate:

• Prepare and cook food according to Smashburger prep, menu, and recipe standards.
• Maintain awareness of all menu items.
• Check orders for accuracy and portion control.
• Work any day of the week and any shift.
• Get along with co-workers and work as a team.
• Present a well-groomed appearance.
• Work well under pressure.
• Operate the cash register if needed.
• Hold a local health department sanitation certificate.

About the role:

• Prepare and cook food according to instructions provided on the food order screen.
• Demonstrate (EGE) "Everyone Greets Everyone" by greeting all guests and fellow team members with an appropriate greeting.
• Participate in food preparation and re-stocking the line.
• Handle purchase items and follow food storage guidelines properly.
• Provide quality food products consistently, adhering to all recipes and presentation standards, and follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
• Operate cooking equipment such as griddles, grills, or deep fryers.
• Clean register and sweep restaurant areas including dining tables, countertops, sinks, display shelves, and storage areas.
• Multitask by cooking several orders simultaneously, ensuring all items meet customer instructions.
• Control food production, including proper cooking methods, times, and temperatures.
• Follow kitchen maintenance and sanitation programs.
• Maintain cleanliness of station and equipment.

A few more things:

• Work in high-temperature environments.
• Move around all kitchen areas.
• Lift items up to 100 pounds.
• Push and pull carts weighing up to 200 pounds.
• Use kitchen utensils with coordination and dexterity.
• Bend, stoop, reach, crouch, kneel, push, and pull during stock rotation and cleaning.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as stoves, grills, fryers, and broilers.
• Speak, read, write, and understand English; conduct conversations with peers in a persuasive manner.

Depending on experience, pay starts at $19.50 an hour plus tips.
