Position Summary

The Cook is responsible for preparing menu items using cooking equipment in a fast-paced environment at the Ken Garff University Club at Rice Eccles Stadium. The role requires adherence to high food quality standards to ensure guest satisfaction, with attention to portion control, food waste, and sanitation.

This position offers an hourly wage of $17.00 to $20.00.

Responsibilities

1. Prepare and package food items to order or keep warm until sold.
2. Receive verbal orders from front counter staff for guest orders.
3. Maintain quality and standards for all menu items, ensuring freshness and high quality.
4. Control portions and serving temperatures.
5. Clean, stock, and restock workstations and displays.
6. Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, fryers, and ovens.
7. Ensure cleanliness of work areas and equipment, proper storage of food, and cleanliness of utensils and floors.
8. Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards.
9. Demonstrate excellent attendance.

Qualifications

1. Effective communication skills with team members, management, and guests.
2. Proficiency in English reading, writing, and speaking.
3. Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
4. Valid food handling certification if required by regulations.
