Job summary

Shreveport Job Corps Center in Shreveport, LA is seeking a Cook to support meal preparation for trainees and supervise kitchen and cafeteria activities. This full-time role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and CPR/First Aid certification.

The Cook will ensure proper food temps, safe storage, maintain cleanliness, and record meal counts and inventory. You will work under the Food Services Supervisor in a federally-funded Job Corps program.

Qualifications

• Experience in large-scale food service is a plus.
• Ability to follow menus and SOPs.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate meal preparation and supervise kitchen and cafeteria activities.
• Prepare and serve meals for trainees according to planned menu.
• Maintain proper food storage and temperature controls for hot and cold items.
• Keep work areas organized and clean; sanitize equipment and surfaces.
• Record usage, leftovers, and monthly inventories; document meals served.
• Operate and maintain food service equipment and report needs.
